Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. As we are just launching the platform, we cannot expect that your city should pay for a website that has no or few users in the initial phase. No benefit - no money.

Our main goal in the early stages of this exciting project is to grow and attract new and active users. The more wonderful wine cities join the platform, the more attractive it will be for wine lovers.

Once we can document, based on user data, that WineCities is a valuable tool for promoting you and the other wine cities, then that is the time for us to continue the offer for a contribution towards costs.

For this we use a privacy-friendly system (not Google Analytics).

Let's promote wine tourism together!

From your professional experience you know that on the one hand people want to be top informed, on the other hand they don't want to spend a lot of time on it.

For the article about your city we recommend between 1,500 and 2,500 characters. The same applies to the marketing article promoting your city directly to wine tourists.

Currently there is a maximum of 10 photos. We plan to expand this to include videos.

If you think these celebrations might appeal to friends of wine and wine culture, go ahead.

If you have a website or special pages that deal with your wine culture, that would be the right link. If you have a tourism link, such as: tourism.city.com and inside you have tourism.city.com/wine, the last link would be ideal.

This platform is for YOU. We welcome your professional opinion on how we can make WineCities better and more attractive, so that it supports your goals and vision. (Bug reports are also welcome).

We are planning a newsletter for the affiliated WineCities to keep you up to date with developments. This may include an updated list of new cities joining the platform, suggestions from city tourism managers on which we seek your opinion, and an overview of WineCities' development.

Yes. As you may know, we started our wine tourism project by presenting more than 3,000 wineries around the world. This is currently being completely revamped. We have more exciting products in the pipeline to bring you more wine travellers and will inform you as soon as the next product is ready. And of course we always welcome your suggestions and recommendations.

We take care of them. However, if you have existing translations for any of your texts, please include them. We speak a number of languages ourselves, but for translations we rely on the services of deepl.com.
