About the WTA

This is exciting news for Wine.Pop and our WineCities project!
WineCities are very often located in culturally rich surroundings. And they can benefit from wine tourism, which the surrounding wineries are expanding and professionalising from year to year. Wine festivals are not just about tasting the new vintages, but also immerse visitors in the cultural life of the city. Vilafranca del Penedès, for example, just half an hour from Barcelona, always combines its annual wine festival with a jazz festival, often with an international line-up. Over 50,000 visitors create an incredible and cheerful atmosphere.
Some towns have vinotheques that present the surrounding wineries in a central location and then allow you to make a targeted visit to the winery. Take the Vinothek Iphofen, for example.
This is where we come in with our Wine.Pop platform to present Europe’s wine towns and promote their festivals – in six languages! With the support of the city marketing departments of the respective cities, we show highlights for wine lovers (and those who want to and should become wine lovers). Did you know, for example, that the city of Heilbronn in Germany, the headquarters of the Lidl supermarket chain, has over 500 hectares of vineyards cultivated by more than 20 winegrowers? From June to September, wine lovers get their money’s worth there: Whether it’s wine after-work at the winery, a farm festival, a rustic hocket, a wine picnic among the vines or a classic tasting in the wine cellar: THE WINE SUMMER in Heilbronn has something to suit every wine lover between June and October. There are almost endless moments of wine enjoyment, and not just at weekends and in marvellous locations.
We at Wine.Pop are happy about every new WineCity that joins us.
Wouldn’t it be great if people interested in culture and wine could simply spend three weeks travelling along the many European WineCities and enjoy their host countries far away from the beaches in southern Europe, for example? Or if, of the three million Spaniards and four million Italians who visit Germany every year, these traditional wine lovers could also discover German wines and their culture?
With winepop.travel we want to achieve exactly that.
